What is PrompterPal?

PrompterPal is a teleprompter app for iPhone and Android, with a free web teleprompter that runs in your browser. It scrolls your script smoothly up the screen in large, easy-to-read text, so you can keep your eyes on the camera or your audience instead of glancing down at notes. On your phone, PrompterPal also records video while you read: full HD, in portrait or landscape, with the front or back camera, so the reading and the recording happen in one take. You choose how the text looks, from the font and size to the colors and margins, and you set the scrolling speed or pause and resume with a Bluetooth remote. Mirror mode flips the text for a beam-splitter teleprompter rig, and right-to-left languages such as Arabic and Hebrew are fully supported. Creators use it for vlogs, interviews and social videos, and speakers use it to rehearse and deliver presentations with confidence.

Can I use PrompterPal on my laptop?

Yes. Open the free online teleprompter in any modern browser on a laptop or desktop computer, with no download and no sign-up. Paste your script or import a .txt, .docx or .pdf file, press Play, and the text scrolls full screen at the speed you choose. It works well for video calls and recordings on Zoom, Microsoft Teams and Google Meet: place the window just under your webcam and make the text large, and you'll seem to look at the people on the call while you read. Mirror and Reverse are there for teleprompter rigs, and Browser Fullscreen hides everything but your script. You can also set a target duration so you finish on time, and control playback from the keyboard or a presentation clicker. Your script stays in the browser on that computer. To record yourself on your phone, send the script to the PrompterPal app with a QR code from Share a Script.

How do I get my script onto my phone?

There are a few ways. In the PrompterPal app you can type or paste a script, or import one from a PDF, Word document or text file saved on your phone. If you write on a computer, open Share a Script in your browser, paste your text and generate a QR code, then scan it with the scanner in the app to bring the script across in seconds. The QR import guide walks through each step. Each QR code works only once and expires after 15 minutes, so your script isn't left lying around. Cloud sync keeps your scripts available across your devices, and folders let you organize them by project, so a script you saved on one device is ready on the next. Once a script is in, choose its font, size and speed, and start reading or recording straight away.
